Laundry Room Ideas are everywhere. The laundry area in your home can be either a pain or a pleasure. Depending on your personal circumstances, like for instance whether most of your young family is still at home or not, or whether its really just mom and pop.
Whatever the situation is for you, the laundry area will still need to be something that is simple, practical and almost out of sight, or else it will need to a good sized room, where you can organise piles of washing, deal with what has already been washed, hang other things up to dry when a dryer won’t do, and having an area where sorting and folding and ironing can all be done. It can be a real mission.
Luckily, these days, the design of the laundry area has gone ahead leaps and bounds and no longer is the area of the home that receives the lowest amount of design interest. Plenty of innovative and creative designs are popping out everywhere for making laundries both functional and a place that looks every much a part of the home.
Before launching into a new makeover for your laundry, think hard about what your needs are currently, and what they might be again in three to five years. Plan accordingly, and contemplate space saving areas, where you can fold things away, or hide them behind cupboard doors. Below are a number of quite common laundry designs and layouts. Check the out and hopefully, you’ll get some ideas and inspiration.

If you struggle to find a suitable place for your laundry room and you have some ‘at least head room’ basement space, you could always locate your laundry utility room in the downstairs basement area. Plumbing and drainage dependent of course.
